The balloon fleet
The envelopes are made from nylon fabric. In the lowest part, closest to the burner, fireproof Nomex has been used.
Propane is used for fuel. We use 20, 30 and 40 kgs stainless steel fuel-cylinders. We carry 2-4 tanks on each flight.
One burner unit has an output of approx. 3 MW. We use double, triple and quadruple burners.
The normal flight temperature in the envelope is c. 90 degrees.
Our balloons are equipped with airband radio, altimeter, variometer, GPS and transponder.
The baskets are made from the finest cane, with stainless steel framework and solid plywood floor. The paddings and trim are leather and cordura. The floor is padded with 40 mm PU.
